Sardinia Bay Golf Club is situated at Sardinia Bay Golf & Wildlife Estate in Gqeberha.
The nine-hole layout is within earshot of the Indian Ocean, offering golfers conditions resembling that of a links course.
The wildlife on the estate adds to the natural environment of the course, which winds through the bushy undulations of the property.
Eighteen tee boxes create enough variety to test most golfers over the course par of 64. Each nine has five par-fours and four par-threes.
Although the par-four holes are relatively short, there are enough challenges thrown in to hold the attention of even seasoned players.
The club is affiliated to the Eastern Province Golf Union and South African Golf Association, and all registered members receive a handicap card that allows them to compete in competitions around the country.
Men’s and women’s senior competitions are held every Tuesday, while a Medal competition is set down for one Saturday every month.
Sardinia Bay Golf Club also offers an individual Stableford 18-hole competition on the remaining Saturdays of each month.
Every second Friday is reserved for the club’s Sundowner sessions, which include a closest-to-the-hole competition played from the deck of the clubhouse.
Non-members are more than welcome to play a round.
The entry-level player will be pleased to know that there are no bunkers on the course, but several well-placed water features ensure that accuracy is a prerequisite.
They are also free to relax with meals and drinks in the clubhouse, renowned for its charming and relaxed atmosphere.
Tee-off is between 7am and 4pm from September to April and between 8am and 3pm from May to August.
